Mae to Perform on Valentine’s Eve

MaeSeeing as concerts are my favorite dry events at Penn State (this is even optional for most, too), it’s always great to hear of another one coming to town.  This event takes us all the way back to 2003 (if you can remember that far back?) with Mae, a “first-gen emo” band that the satirists at Hipster Runoff would deem “meaningful-core.”

For all of you who are foreign to Mae, might I recommend their sophomore release, The Everglow, as a good starting point.  The band’s official website is also full of great information, as well as PureVolume – that hip MySpace alternative.

Mae will be playing at Sozo (256 E. Beaver Ave) on Friday February 13. The Composure (ex- Punchline), Kingsfoil, and Like A Movie will also be playing. The concert is being produced by Nittany Booking, and you can get tickets either at their website or at City Light Records downtown. Tickets are $12 in advance and $14 at the door.

For additional information, visit www.myspace.com/nittanybooking or contact Garrett Bogden at (724) 493-0567.
