Paternos Donate $1 Mil. to Mt. Nittany Med Center
As if the Penn State/Centre County community needed any more reason to worship Joe and Sue Paterno, Thursday morning they announced that they were donating $1 million to the Foundation for Mount Nittany Medical Center to help fund current and future expansion projects. The Paternos join other prominent Penn State benefactors Lloyd and Dottie Huck (Huck Institute for Life Sciences), who donated $1.5 million.
All together the foundation has raised $9 million so far in their efforts, known as the Commitment to Distinction: The Campaign for Mount Nittany Medical Center.
The East Wing expansion, currently entering the final stages of construction, will be a three-story, 42,000 square foot build-up of the existing East Wing. The primary goal of the East Wing expansion is to move the hospital towards having all single-patient rooms, as well as increasing intensive care capabilities.

When I sat back one night in January thinking about my time at Penn State, I tried to come up with a single word that would adequately describe my experiences here. As I attempted to determine what that magic word might be, my mind began to grasp the absurdity of that challenge. How could I possibly distill four years of my life, countless friendships, and untold numbers of memories, down to a single word? An impossible task to be sure.
