Icers Season Opener Tonight Versus Towson

Chris Pronchik, a junior finance student, writes today on behalf of the Nittany Lion Icers. Sporting #9 on his jersey, Pronchik plays forward for the team.

Having completed nearly a month of preseason, it’s finally time for us to lace up the skates tonight against Towson.

With the loss of 12 seniors, the 2009-10 team has a completely new makeup. However, the leadership of returning players John Conte, Matt Kirstein, and Steve Thurson is well complemented by a solid incoming freshman class. After finishing 3rd in the national tournament last year, our team hopes to make another push for the title this year.

What: The Penn State Nittany Lion Icers will open their 2009-10 season against Towson University.

When: Friday October 2 at 9:00 pm and Saturday October 3 at 3:00 pm.

Where: Penn State Ice Pavilion.

Cost: $7.50 for adults and $5 for students.
