My Facebook Newsfeed Says It’s Snowing At Penn State
I didn’t even have to look out the window to find out it was snowing this morning when I woke up. The amount of people freaking out on Facebook were the first to alert me.
The good news is that we’ve set a new meteorological record. According to Dan DePodwin, a Junior Meteorology major, the snowfall today is the earliest measurable snowfall in State College. So congratulations Happy Valley for confusing migratory birds and hibernating mammals all over Central Pennsylvania.
According to State College-based Accuweather, a winter weather advisory is in effect that will last until Saturday at 8:00 pm. 2-6 inches are expected on ridgetops, with heavy wet snow sticking thinly to colder surfaces in valleys. Roads are likely to stay wet and the tailgating fields are likely to turn into mud pits.
I guess snow this early means we’ll get an early Spring, right?

AT&T is sponsoring a pretty cool competition in which entrants can win $10,000 cash in scholarship money for creating a mobile device application. Teams of up to four people can enter a custom-built application for the purpose of e-learning.
