State College Landlord Fights Rental Ordinance Change
In a guest column written for StateCollege.com, local landlord Doris Myers discussed a recent report published by the State College borough recommending that rental occupancy limits be decreased from three to two residents in rental houses due to issues with student tenants.
Myers says that rather than the borough creating new laws that outright discriminate against students, property owners should economically account for destructive and prohibited activities through tougher leases. She also points out that by lowering the amount of occupants allowed in a rental from three to two, the Borough Council would be taking already limited living space away from students.
