Michigan: Make Your Predictions Here!

No. 25 Michigan Wolverines: 5-2

Series Record: UM leads 10-5

Head Coach: Rich Rodriguez, 18th year overall and 3rd with UM

Players to watch: QB Denard Robinson, LB Jonas Mouton, S Jordan Kovacs

De-nard. Rob-in-son.

Get used to hearing his name. As a quarterback, the kid has rushed for a nation-high 1,096 yards this season and gotten 9 touchdowns, making a serious run at the Heisman trophy.

Rich Rodriguez and his Wolverines will stroll into Beaver Stadium without ever having beaten a Penn State team, but the dreadlocks himself (Robinson) will be looking to change that fate.

Penn State is allowing 143 yards rushing a game and allowed the No. 92 ranked rusher to gain 111 yards on them in Minnesota. How will they put a stop to Robinson who runs for nearly 160 yards per game?

“He is definitely a dynamic player,” said linebacker Chris Colasanti, who leads the Big Ten in tackles. “He is shifty. He finds daylight and runs. I think that is what makes him so dynamic and able to make such big plays and great plays.”

Opposite from Robinson, the Wolverines’ defense has struggled this year, allowing more than 440 yards of total offense per game. There might not be a better day for former walk-on Matt McGloin to start at quarterback.

I think McGloin will turn some heads this weekend with a solid performance, inflated by Michigan’s terrible passing defense or not.

Behind McGloin will be the senior running back Evan Royster, who finally has a legitimate chance to become Penn State’s all-time leading rusher. #22 needs only 31 yards to become #1 in Penn State record books, surpassing Penn State great Curt Warner’s career record of 3,398 rushing yards.

Does Royster finally become Penn State’s all-time leading rusher? Does this make him the best running back in Penn State history? Or will it all be overshadowed by the Denard Robinson Show?

Wrestlers Rebound with a Sweep in Michigan

Well that’s more like it. After getting trounced by Iowa last weekend, which snapped a 13-match winning streak, the Nittany Lion wrestlers rallied back with two convincing victories over Michigan State and Michigan this weekend. The first stop of the road trip was in Lansing Friday night where they mauled the Spartans 30-9. Then they headed back to Ann Arbor for a 28-13 beating of the Wolverines.
