Penn State Walks For a Better Haiti

In the aftermath of the devastating earthquakes that struck Haiti, Penn Staters are taking action.

Club Kreyol is sponsoring “A Walk For A Better Haiti” today that starts at East Halls and continues across campus to Old Main. The walk will be a way for those in attendance to voice concerns for a country in ruins.

Event registration kicks of at 2:30 p.m. and will be $5 for PSU student and faculty/$7 for community members. A portion of the proceeds from the walk will be sent to children who are still suffering from the tragedy.

An estimated 100,000 to 200,000 people have died from the earthquake that struck 10 miles from Port-au-Prince, and an estimated 1.5 million are still left homeless. The generosity of students and community members can help instill hope in the people of Haiti during this difficult time.

“With strength and unity, Penn State can help make a change.”
