CCSG Holds Council Weekend and Welcomes PASS Schools

This Friday and Saturday, the Council of Commonwealth Student Governments will hold its fourth Council Weekend of this academic year.

The Council has a very busy weekend planned.

The biggest thing happening this weekend is that representatives from Pitt, Lincoln, and Temple (the three other PASS schools) will make presentations on the issues upfront at their universities, and discuss the statewide funding crisis that will almost undoubtedly occur later this spring.

The Council is also working on legislation to link equivalent clubs at all the campuses (imagine Young Americans for Freedom on an all-university level), voting on next year’s activity fee, and looking at passing legislation for a Capital Day in Harrisburg. The featured speaker will be Madlyn Hanes, Vice President for the Commonwealth Campuses, and former Chancellor of the Harrisburg campus.

The festivities will run on Friday from 8 to 10 p.m. in Alumni Hall, and Saturday from about 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m in 302 HUB. CCSG also has a more detailed agenda on their website.

And don’t forget about CCSG’s carnival benefiting THON starting at 10 p.m. Friday night!
