Penn State Breaks $9 Million with THON 2011
Penn State shattered its previous THON fundraising record this afternoon when the 2011 Overall Committee flipped over its now iconic white placards to reveal that this 2011 total was $9,563,016.09– an increase of more than $1.7 million over 2010.
Tomorrow there will be time to look back at the weekend and remember the memories created over 46-hours this February in the Bryce Jordan Center. For now though, revel in this simple fact: your university has made a difference in the lives of thousands of children with pediatric cancer.

American universities produce more research and relevant knowledge for the world at large than any other institutions I know of. Tuition may be too damn high, but over the long-run, undergraduate degrees are definitely worth the cost. But Penn State could be so much more. It used to be, I think.
