We have compiled an amazing book list that you can jump into as you crack open a cold one, whether you’re tanning on a beach in Bermuda or just hanging out on your living room couch. With recommendations from our eclectic staff and some of our Twitter followers, there is definitely something for everyone. But if the only literature you plan on reading next week is the drink menu at your swim-up hotel bar, we’re not passing any judgment.

• Lee Lawver endorses A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius by Dave Eggers. According to Lee, the claims that this is the book of our generation are valid. And I trust him.
• Ali Fogarty suggests The Great Gatsby because it’s just as good the hundredth time around.
• Devon Edwards plans on reading Scorecasting and Catch-22 for the first time since high school.
• John Tecce recommends Friday Night Lights and The Blind Side–the books. They both got his mom’s stamp of approval, as well.
