After Movin’ On announced its first three selections for next Friday’s concert, I gave up hope on enjoying the concert. The last band was just announced though, and the surprising thing is that they are actually a good choice.

The fourth band performing for Movin’ On is San Francisco indie-pop duo Mates of State.  Think of it as this year’s Matt & Kim, except that Mates of State don’t rely so heavily on their synths and both members sing equally well.

Mates of State will be playing in the 5:30-6:15 time slot– perfect for after a day-long.

I’ll hand it to Movin’ On for giving the hipsters and alt kids something to actually look forward to. You’ll be able to enjoying playing Frisbee during their cover of The Mars Volta’s “Son Et Lumiere.”
