Former Nittany Lion Plays for Women’s World Cup
After 4 years with German soccer club 1. FFC Frankfurt, Penn State grad Ali Krieger has returned to the States to join the U.S. women’s team in their hunt for the Women’s World Cup.
Krieger joined 1. FFC Frankfurt in the summer of 2007 after she graduated and was a starter there until her final game, the German Women’s National Championship, in May.
During her time at Penn State she led the Nittany Lions to 4 Big Ten championships, as well as earning a handful of individual awards, including two All-American honors and a first team NSCAA All-American honor.
The U.S. won their first World Cup game on Tuesday, putting on an impressive show with a 2-0 victory over North Korea. They take on Colombia in their next match on Saturday, June 2nd.
