Comm GRAD Forum to Discuss Occupy Wall Street

It’s been several months since the first tents sprang up in Zuccotti Park, but the anti-corporate Occupy Wall Street movement isn’t far from anyone’s radar. The first Comm GRAD forum of the semester revolves around Occupy Wall Street and will be held today in the Warring Commons West Study Lounge, from 12-1:15 pm.

Darwin Tsen, a Comparative Literature grad student, is one of the students participating in this forum. He visited Occupy Wall Street three times and encourages all students to attend the forum, and not only for the promised refreshments.  “They’ll get a closer account of what Occupy Wall Street really was like, as opposed to the media’s portrayal,” said Tsen.

The Forum will feature four grad students who have been involved with or have closely followed the movement. Tsen was also involved with last semester’s Occupy Penn State, and thinks that it’s “better to focus on local movements rather than to flock to Occupy Wall Street.”

The Comm GRAD Forum plans several forums each semester open to all students. For more information, check out their website.
