Paterno Memorial Items Will Be Archived
Per Penn State University Archivist Jackie Esposito, the mementos that surrounded the Joe Paterno statue following his death have been moved to a storage space provided by Intercollegiate Athletics.
The Paterno family will decide on which items they wish to keep.
If the family chooses, any paper-based items (cards, letters, etc.) will be transferred to the Library Archives. The materials would then be available for public viewing during the normal hours of the Special Collections Library (M-F 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.).
According to the Facebook page of Penn State Libraries, additional memorabilia may also be given to the All-Sports Museum.
Currently, there is no timetable for the archival or transfer of materials.
