WBCA Pink Zone at Penn State will be on Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Bryce Jordan Center during the Penn State women’s basketball game against Minnesota. For every ticket sold for the game, $3 will be donated to the Pink Zone fundraising efforts.

This will be the sixth year of Pink Zone at Penn State. Last year alone, the Lady Lions donated almost $200,000 for breast cancer causes. This year’s fundraising will benefit the Mount Nittany Medical Center, the Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition, the Kay Yow Cancer Fund, J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital and Lewistown Hospital. Pink Zone is an initiative raise funds for breast cancer awareness, research and education.

The Pink Zone event will also be the final game of the regular season for Penn State. Last Sunday, the Lady Lions clinched at least a share of the Big Ten regular season title with an 84-66 win over then-No. 8 Ohio State. An Ohio State loss to Nebraska on Sunday, or a Lady Lion victory over Minnesota would clinch the regular season title outright.

Penn State is 22-5 overall and 12-3 in the Big Ten. The Golden Gophers are 14-15 and 6-9 in the Big Ten. In the first meeting of the teams this season, the Lady Lions came away with a 68-65 victory in Minnesota.
