PSU World Campus Student Among Fallen In Libya
Penn State has lost one of its own.
Sean Smith, a Penn State World Campus student was killed as part of the attack on the U.S consulate in Libya as reported by the Centre Daily Times this morning. Smith was 34-years old, and an information management official with the U.S. State Department.
The attack, which garnered national attention for the death of U.S embassador to Libya, Christopher Stevens, destroyed the U.S. consulate and killed four Americans on Tuesday.
“This is obviously a tragedy for his family, Penn State and the nation,” Lisa Powers said in an email to the Centre Daily Times. “His family and friends are certainly in our thoughts and prayers.”
According to The Daily Collegian, plans are underway to honor Smith at the Navy football game tomorrow at Beaver Stadium.
