A Letter From the Mauti Family to the Penn State Community

It’s certainly been an emotional year for the Mauti family. From taking over as the emotional leader of the team, to the heartbreaking injury at the end, Michael Mauti has garnered the love and support of the Penn State family that is nearly unmatched by any player in our history.

His brother Pat, who also played at Penn State from 2005-2008, sent this letter to The School Philly on behalf of his family.

It began:

“Below is a thank you letter from my family. We feel it is the least we could do for everything that nittany nation and the community has done for us. If you guys could please get this out to as many people as possible, it would be very much appreciated.”

 On to the actual email:

To Nittany Nation/PSU community,

Wow! We are not sure where to begin. The outpouring of support that we have received has been truly humbling and moving in more ways you can imagine. We could not be more touched and honored to be included in this incredibly unique community. Saturday was truly special for our entire family and for all the seniors and their families that know what the words commitment, family, community and leadership really mean.  We will remember that day for the rest of our lives. I don’t think the phrase ‘thank you’ does enough justice but from our family to the entire PSU community……THANK YOU from every emotional fiber in our hearts!!!

WE ARE…..
As “Proud” as ever!!!
The Mauti Family

Hometown Brewery Releases Beer Honoring Evan Pugh

Penn State’s first president Evan Pugh was born in 1828 at Jordan Bank Farm, three miles south of the city center of Oxford, Pennsylvania, an hour west of Philadelphia in Chester County. One-hundred eighty-nine years later, an Oxford brewery is honoring one of the preeminent champions of “liberal and practical” higher education in the form of a delicious Porter.
