McGloin and Zordich Accept All-Star Game Invitations

The number of Penn State seniors playing in postseason contests increased from one to three today as quarterback Matt McGloin and fullback Michael Zordich both accepted invitations to play in All-Star games.

After a spectacular senior season that saw him win the Burlsworth Trophy and lead the Big Ten in passing yards and touchdowns, McGloin will be participating in the Texas vs, the Nation Game on February 2nd in Allen Stadium, located in Allen, Texas. Established in 2006, this is the final game of the college football postseason that begins with bowl games in December.

Zordich will play in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl on January 19th at the Home Depot Center in Carson, California. The contest will begin at 3 p.m. Pacific Time (6 p.m. Eastern Time) and will be televised on ESPN2.

These two contributors to Bill O’Brien’s high-powered offense join senior defensive tackle Jordan Hill, who accepted a Senior Bowl invitation two weeks ago, as the trio of Nittany Lions currently scheduled to participate in all-star games.
