Although it has been known for awhile now, a tweet from Black Shoe Diaries’ contributor @Chad_Markulics yesterday brought to light an awesome video from this weekend.

Academy Award winning actor Jon Voight — most famous for his roles in classics Midnight Cowboy, Coming Home, and Runaway Train — was spotted in the stands last Saturday at the Lady Lions trashing of NJIT.

As it turns out, Voight is brothers with former Penn State Geology professor Barry Voight, who retired in 2005. Presumably, Voight was in town to celebrate the holidays with family, although it’s not the first time the movie star has been spotted on campus according to some of our Facebook commenters.

Penn State also released a video of the Lady Lions meeting Voight after the game. Although the team might better know Voight for being the father of Angelina Jolie or his now infamous car, it was still a cool moment and is just another example of how many people are connected in some way to Penn State.
