First 2013 TEDxPSU Speakers Announced

The 2013 edition of TEDxPSU will be here before we know it. Registration for the fourth ever independently organized Penn State TED event is now open, and organizers say that they’re almost completely booked. TEDxPSU: Yesterday’s Frontiers and Tomorrow’s Horizons will he held on March 17 in Schwab Auditorium, and feature 15 speakers tasked with inspiring and spreading “ideas worth sharing.”

The first six speakers have also been announced:

  • Dan Thurmon (Life balance) – author and motivational speaker who incorporates comedy, juggling and acrobatics into his presentation.
  • Danny Kim (Moped) – founder of  Lit Motors, which creates safer motorcycles.
  • Debbie Sterling (GoldiBlox) – founder of GoldiBlox, which creates engineering toys for girls.
  • Michael Paul (Space) – “The Lunar Lion”
  • Terry Engelder (Fracking) – Penn State geologist who was one of the leading innovators in Marcellus shale fracking technology.
  • Chad Littlefield (Positive Social Risks) – founder of the Penn State Clown Nose club.

With six great speakers already lined up and nine more on the way, I’d make sure to register before it’s too late. And according to Director of Communications Ali Pump, food and swag bags will also be available.
