Penn State Artist Spotlight:
Showing off the talent of Happy Valley.

Ave. Amen – Ghetto Symphony (Remix)

Putting his own spin on the A$AP Rocky track, Ghetto Symphony, local State College rapper/producer, Ave. Amen, lashes out on this new single with an aggressive flow and licks that stick like gum on your shoe.

Penn State Playlist:
All of this week’s hottest new music in one place.

Local Natives – Hummingbird

These indie rockers have been gaining a decent following recently. Combining a psychedelic feel with catchy hooks and unusual drum rhythms brings out a sound that is unique while highly danceable. Plus, these guys look so hipster you might spontaneously grow a stache while watching this music video. Their second album, Hummingbird comes out this Tuesday.

Foxygen – We Are the 21st Century Ambassadors of Peace and Magic

This band sounds like they came straight from the 60’s. If the album title didn’t already give it away, they are highly influenced by The Beatles. The band can be pretty well summed up by simple songs, trippy imagery, and hippy lyrics. Their debut album, We Are the 21st Century Ambassadors of Peace and Magic released last week to critical acclaim. Fans of classic rock will love to sit back, smoke a doobie, and relive the 60’s.

Grizzly Bear – gun-shy

2012’s album, Shields, from Grizzly Bear is full of unexpected sounds and styles. And today, the band’s musical experiment culminates in a grusome four and a half minute video complete with trippy stop motion effects, bizarre medical scenes and eerily tranquil shots of nature.

Mash-up of the week: The Neighbourhood – Say My Name Vs. Cry Me A River

Party jam of the week: Tyga ft. Wiz Khalifa & Mally Mal – Molly
