Coach Chambers Makes a Huge Pledge to THON
With only four days to go, the spirit of THON is in the air, and one coach is taking it upon himself to make a difference.
This morning on B94.5, basketball coach Patrick Chambers pledged to donate $10 to THON for every student who attends the basketball game Thursday night at 9 p.m. against Iowa. The announcement shocked everyone in studio when be mentioned it on the air but is ultimately unsurprising considering Chambers’ personality and historical support for THON. In fact, just last week Chambers just shaved his head for THON’s “No Hair, Don’t Care” campaign.
More details are coming soon from the athletic department, but with an average student attendance at basketball often reaching the thousands, this will be an incredible opportunity for a late money bomb FTK.
UPDATE 4:20 p.m. – Penn State basketball has announced details for the pledge. Students will pick up pledge cards from 8:00-9:15 in the concourse near Portal 31 and will be able to redeem them with 5 minutes left in the second half.
