Penn State trustee Anthony Lubrano is set to testify in front of a Pennsylvania Senate committee on Government next Monday, March 18.

The public hearing was originally scheduled to hear from only Auditor General Eugene DePascuale and Board of Trustees Governance Committee chair Jim Broadhurst. Lubrano was just recently added to the schedule, along with former trustee Bob Horst.

“It’s official. I will be appearing before the Senate Committee on Government on March 18,” Lubrano wrote last night. “Should be interesting, folks.”

Pennsylvania politicians have become increasingly critical of Penn State’s governance structure in recent months. Multiple lawsuits from state politicians like Governor Corbett and representative Jake Corman have cited flaws in Penn State’s Board of Trustees. More recently, Senator John Yudichak grilled President Rodney Erickson on his handling of the Freeh report and board structure. Auditor General Jack Wagner has released a series of recommendations for reform in the Board of Trustees.

The state has a vested interest in Penn State, and it’s clear that Pennsylvania leaders are going to demand answers.

“It will be a look at what things should be changed and what role the Legislature should play,” said panel Chairman Sen. Lloyd Smucker to the Times-Tribune.
