Talib Kweli to Perform at World Cultural Festival

Penn State’s International Student Council and the Paul Robeson Cultural Center are teaming up to present the World Cultural Festival, a celebration of harmony and diversity at Penn State. With activities planned from Saturday, March 23rd to Friday, March 29th, we can look forward to a week full of speakers and performances.

One of the events planned, called Social Justice Spotlight, will feature Talib Kweli. Known within the hip hop culture for insightful and socially responsible lyricism, Kweli first gained fame as a member of Black Star alongside Mos Def. Their only album,  Mos Def and Talib Kweli Are Black Star, received critical and commercial success. Aside from Black Star, Talib Kweli has produced six solo albums, with titles such as The Beautiful Sturggle and the upcoming Prisoner of Conscious.

You can see Talib Kweli at the Social Justice Spotlight on Wednesday, March 27th at 7 p.m. in Alumni Hall. And make sure you check out all of the events at this year’s World Cultural Festival. You can see the full event schedule here.
