WHY? to Headline SOMA Arts Crawl

Penn State’s Students Organizing the Multiple Arts hosts its annual Arts Crawl on Friday, April 5th. If you have never heard of this, it’s definitely something to check out. For one day, SOMA takes over North Campus to showcase the best in student arts and entertainment. Hosted in various arts and architecture buildings throughout North Campus, the showcase will feature over 20 local bands, as well as student-created art and film.

This year’s Arts Crawl will be headlined by WHY?. The alternative indie group is the brainchild of hip hop producer Yoni Wolf, who co-founded the independent hip hip label Anticon in 1998. Since then, he has released over a dozen albums and EP’s with WHY? and collaborated on a wide variety of indie projects. Drawing from alternative, hip hop, indie, and folk influences, WHY? creates a unique sound that varies from dreamy soft folk to heavy sweeping tracks.

You can check out the SOMA Arts Crawl on Friday, April 5th from 5:30 to 11 p.m. all across North Campus, and don’t miss the performance by WHY? at the Visual Arts Building.
