In an effort to make THON more relatable to outside communities, THON announced today that the Overall Committee will now be referred to as the Executive Committee.

With the changes, the Overall Chair will now be referred to as the Executive Director, and each overall will be called a Committee Director.  For example — the Morale Overall will now be called the Morale Director. The goal is for the positions to be “more relatable to a wider audience” according to a press release. I guess we can all be glad that we no longer have to refer to Ryan Patrick as the “Overall Overall”.

The change comes after a year full of challenges and obstacles for the THON 2013 Overall Committee. THON will certainly need to make several changes this year to ensure the safety of all volunteers, as well as fixing the capacity issues in the BJC which no one was happy about.  What other changes will be made by the Overall Executive Committee before we stand next February?  Only time will tell.
