The Blue and White Film Festival Highlights the Best in Student Films

When I think of Blue and White events in April, my mind doesn’t automatically go to football. As a film major, I think of one of the coolest events to hit the State Theatre all year, the Blue and White Film Festival. The festival highlights the best in student film work produced in the 2012-2013 academic year, and students who enter have the chance to have their works shown on the big screen at a red carpet event on April 25 at 7 p.m.

The work produced by students in the film program each year spans across many genres, from narrative films to documentaries to experimental and animated shorts. A panel of distinguished judges, including faculty and professional alumni, view every film and vote for the winners. Who knows, you might see work by some of the next famous writers, directors, and more before they’re famous!

For anyone interested, the submission window opens today and closes on April 13. Any Penn State students, even non-film majors, can submit! More details are available on the Facebook event page.
