Webster’s Cafe Turns One Year Old

Downtown State College is all about local business. And one of our favorites, Webster’s Cafe, is celebrating its first anniversary in the new location this Saturday with a day of local art and music. The downtown bookstore/coffee shop will soon relaunch with a new and improved bookstore and new menu options.

To ring in the second year of its existence, Webster’s Cafe will feature a number of local artists, including musical performances, poetry readings, and original artwork by Elli Groninger of Crash & Burn Metal Works. Elli’s drawing will go to the winner of a random drawing. Here’s a list of what to see on Saturday afternoon.

  • Jim Colbert music and poetry at 3 p.m.
  • Andy Tolins and JT Thompson at 4 p.m.
  • Cole Hons music and poetry at 5:30 p.m.
  • Richard Sleigh at 7 p.m.
  • Erin Condo and Wiggus 8 p.m., with a special appearance by Shannon Bishop from Black Cat Belly Dance

Other local businesses will also be joining in the festivities. Pennsylvania Certified Organic/FARM FEST, Friends and Farmers, Groundwork Farms, Contempo Studios, Hughes Pottery, and Lotus Center Yoga will all hold information tables at Webster’s on Saturday. Webster’s will also be giving out free samples of its new menu options.

Check out the new and improved Webster’s Cafe this Saturday to celebrate the creativity of the downtown State College community.
