After weeks of speculation, THON came forward today to announce that it plans to open a permanent store in the HUB. The new shop is expected to arrive at the conclusion of HUB expansion in May 2015.

According to Merchandise Director Tom Bremer, the new store will “better accommodate our volunteers when they purchase products benefiting THON.”

In addition, Public Relations Director Dana Giacobello told Onward State that the “physical store will be instrumental in helping spread our message beyond State College, while also more conveniently providing merchandise to supporters.” She noted that the permanent store, which will include all of our favorite THON gear, will replace the numerous Merchandise sales that take place on the first floor of the HUB.

Giacobello reports that THON has been discussing a physical store with HUB officials for several years.

It will all come down to a vote on HUB Expansion next month at the Board of Trustees meeting.
