SIDs Myford, Siegrist To Leave Penn State

Two longtime members of Penn State’s sports information department are leaving for other job opportunities, the university announced yesterday. Sports information directors Greg Myford and Brian Siegrist are departing for IMG College and the University of Southern Florida, respectively.

Myford is Penn State’s associate athletic director for marketing and communications. He has been in Happy Valley since 2004, where he mostly oversaw marketing for the teams at Penn State and has been the university’s spokesman on “business matters pertaining to athletics” since he arrived.

He will be joining IMG College, the nation’s largest collegiate sports marketing company. IMG College has a laundry list of clients, including six conferences, 26 bowl games, the Heisman Trophy, the NCAA and co-owns the Longhorn Network. It is reported that Myford will leave by the end of the month.

Siegrist has spent the last 18 years at Penn State as an Assistant and Associate Media Relations Director, and is leaving to take over as USF’s Associate Athletic Director for Communications. Siegrist worked closely with the basketball program for the last eight seasons as their Director of Communications, and has been the football program’s secondary contact for the last fourteen.

Siegrist was praised by basketball coach Pat Chambers as he helped organize the basketball team’s game in Rec Hall against Princeton on December 14. Per a press release by USF, Siegrist will begin his tenure in Tampa in mid-August.
