Eat Home-Cooked Meals On Campus, Courtesy of Your Classmates

Welcome to Nostalgia: A place where you can eat all of your childhood favorites with an elegant twist.

This is the goal of the HRIM (Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Management) 430 class — to create a themed dinner by the students, for the students (and outside community). The class meets every Wednesday from 1:25 to 9:30 p.m. to plan every aspect of its dinner from the menu, to the reservations, to the napkin folds. The dinner is held in Cafe Laura in the Mateer Building, which is home to the HRIM majors and allows them to practice their skills before entering the workforce.

This year’s HRIM 430 Team 2 has planned a dinner based around the theme “Nostalgia.” Their goal is to add an elegant twist to homemade, childhood favorites like meatloaf and mac and cheese. The menu features appetizers, entrees, desserts, and beverages. While prices for entrees vary between $14-24, let it be known that this meal can be paid for with meal points.

This is where you come in. If you’re already tired of the commons, cooking for yourself, or you’re just living off McLanahans sandwiches, this is the perfect chance to eat some awesome food and help your fellow classmates out!

Register for Cafe Laura with your friends and enjoy a night out while still paying with your parents’ money.  Enjoy your favorite home-cooked meals on campus while giving the HRIM students a chance to practice high-end food service.

Nostalgia will be held on October 23 and November 2o with time slots for 5:00. 5:30, 6:00, 6:30, 7:00, and 7:30. Check out its Facebook Page for more info.
