Olympic Gold Medalist Shawn Johnson to Visit Penn State
The Student Programming Association just announced its first distinguished speaker of the semester in gymnast and 2008 Olympic Gold medalist Shawn Johnson.
Johnson is scheduled to visit campus on October 2 and speak about her accomplishments in life and in the Olympics at Eisenhower Auditorium. Free tickets are being distributed now at Eisenhower Auditorium, the HUB ticket desk, and CPA outlets.
Johnson won a 2008 Olympic gold medal in the balance beam and is a silver medalist in team, all-around, and floor exercise. She gained more notoriety in 2008 when she was named the winner of the eighth season of Dancing with the Stars.
