Club Croquet Wins THON’s Got Talent 2014

Once again, THON’s Got Talent came to the Bryce Jordan Center to spread the musical prowess of some of the best THON volunteers. Three participants sang, played instruments, and dropped beats to win over the hearts of voters throughout the BJC. Spectators and dancers alike could vote for their favorites by sending a message to ftkgottalent@thon.org.

Cara Wojciechowski kicked things off by singing a fan favorite, Taylor Swift’s “Love Story.” She dedicated the performance to Laney Brown, a Four Diamonds child who passed away in December and who loved Swift and her music. Wojciechowski also sang “Brave” by Sara Baraeilles, a song sure to be heard a few times this weekend.

Up next was Colin Rowe who played a self-proclaimed “little medley” of songs by Imagine Dragons, Katy Perry, and Justin Timberlake on guitar. In-between songs, Rowe started the first official wave around the BJC as he began playing the beginning chords to Eminem’s “Lose Yourself” – and then stopped just short in order to play Snow Patrol’s “Open Your Eyes” on the keyboard.

The final act was the ever-popular Club Croquet, who performed as a 4-piece band, including a beat-boxer. They started with Avicii’s “Wake Me Up” and finished with “Pompeii” by Bastille, two songs that definitely got the BJC pumped up for the rest of the night.

After the votes were tallied, the winner of THON’s Got Talent is…Club Croquet!
