Have you ever dreamed of running out of that Beaver Stadium tunnel in the blue and white, with the roar of 107,000 leading the way? If you weren’t recruited out of high school or didn’t grab those high-star ratings needed for a Penn State offer, it might not be too late.

Penn State football will host a “Run-On Informational Meeting” — apparently the “run-on” moniker will live on after Bill O’Brien — tonight at 5 p.m. at the Lasch Building. The meeting is for anyone interested in trying out for the football team.

Penn State has a rich history with non-scholarship players excelling — names like Greg Garrity, Deon Butler, and Matt McGloin come to mind — and with NCAA scholarship reductions still relevant, Penn State’s “run-on” program is crucially important to the team’s success.

Personally, I’m about 50 pounds off of my high school athletics glory day playing weight, but if you’ve laid off the Wings Over a little more than I have, go give it a shot.
