Mike the Mailman to Hit Center Stage

Penn State’s favorite mailman is making his way from the post office to the theater. As announced by Penn State Thespians, Mike Herr — better known as Mike the Mailman — will appear in the Thespians’ production of “In the Heights” this week.

“In The Heights is a musical following a Hispanic community for three eventful days in Washington Heights, Manhattan,” said Emma Gregory, production manager. “It is set in 2014 and featured rap and pop singing, and salsa and hip-hop dancing. It’s one of those musicals that people like when they say they don’t like musicals, so we want to spread the word!”

It’s not disclosed what character Penn State’s favorite mailman will play, but it’s sure to be a hit nonetheless.

The show will run April 3-5 in Schwab Auditorium. Mike the Mailman will appear in the shows on April 3 and April 4. Tickets, which are $4.99 for students/faculty and $12 for the general public, can be purchased here, at the HUB from April 1-5, or at the door.
