Blue & White Society Hosts PSi(heart)U Week

As the 2014 Blue-White Weekend festivities draw closer, Blue & White Society is sponsoring a week of events celebrating Penn State pride and tradition.

The week, known as PSi(heart)U, allows students, alumni, and community members to celebrate Penn State and the individuals and organizations that shape their personal experiences. The schedule of theme days and programming is as follows:

Monday, April 7: Wear Your Pride Day

Throughout the day, Blue & White Society members will distribute “prizes” to individuals seen wearing Penn State or Blue & White Society gear on campus (good luck finding that, am I right?). Alumni not in State College are encouraged to wear their blue and white wherever they may be and share them with #PSiheartU. Photos will be shared on B&WS social media throughout the week.

Tuesday, April 8: PSi(heart)U Day

Students will be able to share what they personally love about Penn State with a “PSi(heart)U because…” photobooth set up on campus. Photos will be shared on the B&WS website and through social media outlets, and alumni are encouraged to submit their own with #PSiheartU.

Wednesday, April 9: Old Main Open House

Blue & White Society will contribute to this spring’s Old Main Open House, planned by the Lion Ambassadors, which includes entertainment, food, and tours of the bell tower from 2 p.m. – 6 p.m. Wednesday. Blue & White Society will sponsor an aerial photo from the bell tower that will be taken prior to the event at 1:30 p.m., and students partaking are encouraged to wear clothing representing a student organization.

Thursday, April 10: PSthankyoU Day

Students will have the opportunity to write cards in the HUB thanking those who make their Penn State experience special, and Mike the Mailman will be on hand to help deliver these notes. Also, the Dreadnought Brigade featuring a Penn State alumnus will perform at 8 p.m. in Heritage Hall.

Friday, April 11: Blue-White Weekend Kickoff

Throughout the day, Blue & White Society will host a kickoff party in the HUB for Blue-White Weekend that includes an appearance from Coach James Franklin at 11:30 a.m. Food and entertainment are provided, and participants can sign a welcome banner that will be given to Coach Franklin at the event.
