New Jersey Quarterback Brandon Wimbush Commits to Penn State

James Franklin has taken another recruit from Ohio State despite being under the harshest sanctions in the history of college football.

Four-star 2015 New Jersey quarterback Brandon Wimbush committed to Penn State today, according to Bleacher Report.

Wimbush decided on the Nittany Lions despite holding offers from a bunch of big name schools, including LSU, Miami, Michigan State, Nebraska, Ohio State, and Tennessee, among others. He is the second four-star recruit to commit to Penn State today, along with offensive lineman Sterling Jenkins.

The 6’2″, 215-pound Wimbush is a native of Jersey City, N.J., and attends powerhouse Saint Peter’s Prep. He is a four-star recruit on ESPN and Rivals. ESPN ranks Wimbush the 107th best player in America, the fifth best dual-threat QB in the nation, and the second best recruit in New Jersey. Rivals lists him as the 203rd best player nationally, the sixth best pro-style quarterback in America, and the fifth best player in the state.

Wimbush joins offensive lineman Steven Gonzalez and wide receiver Juwan Johnson as recruits from New Jersey, which is apparently the next state Franklin wants to dominate, now that he has basically dominated all of Pennsylvania.
