Between finding your way around campus, buying textbooks, attending involvement fairs, and picking up items you forgot to pack, it is no secret that the first couple weeks of your time at Penn State can be incredibly hectic. In light of this, the University Park Undergraduate Association hopes to help alleviate some of that stress by giving incoming students a head start at finding out where they want to get involved on campus, as well as giving them a chance to pick current students’ brains about anything they want to know through UPUA’s first-ever Incoming Student Google Hangout.

UPUA has partnered with a variety of major student organizations to host this live Google Hangout Q&A session. The Hangout will provide incoming first year students the opportunity to learn more about ways they can get involved on campus, and ask any remaining questions they have about Penn State prior to their arrival. This event will be held on Saturday, August 2, from 2:00 to 4:30 p.m. and will be open to all incoming first-year students.

On the day of the hangout, students can visit pennstateupua.com/hangout, where the Hangout will be live-streamed. Starting at 2:00 p.m., each host will be providing a brief synopsis of their organization and ways in which students can get involved. The remainder of the time will be open for questions, which can be submitted by tweeting @UPUA using #PSUhangout. Questions can also be submitted ahead of time by e-mailing UPUA@psu.edu.

Hosts of the hangout include leaders from the UPUA, THON, Interfraternity Council, Panhellenic Council, Homecoming, Council of LionHearts, Daily Collegian, Onward State, Blue and White Society, Black Caucus, Asian Pacific American Caucus, and the Association of Residence Hall Students.
