Penn State Adds More ADA Parking Space

Penn State caused quite a stir when it relocated its designated Americans with Disabilities Act parking lots for football games to Innovation Park earlier this year. After fans with disabilities made their complaints known to the university, Penn State Athletics announced upgrades for ADA parking.

Earlier this month, PennLive reported on complaints from fans who were forced to park in the specialized area at Innovation Park. According to the fans, half of the shuttles designated to take them to the stadium were not wheelchair accessible. On top of that, in the shuttles that were actually wheelchair accessible, people weren’t properly strapped in. One woman in a wheelchair fell backwards and hit her head, while others felt so unsafe that they chose to walk the almost two miles to the stadium instead.

In an effort to fix this parking fiasco, Penn State has issued an additional 237 ADA parking spots behind the Wagner Building and in the East Parking Deck. Further, they promised to upgrade shuttle services for those who park at Innovation Park.

“As always, Penn State Athletics appreciates the unwavering support of our fans and we are constantly evaluating our game day operations. We will continue to monitor the challenges presented when parking all of our fans on game day,” the athletic department wrote on GoPSUSports.

Hopefully those with disabilities will be able to enjoy the gameday experience in a safer, more efficient manner in the coming weeks.

DIY Halloween Costumes

Halloween is arguably the greatest weekend here at Penn State–costume parties and candy, what could be better? Unfortunately, it is also one of the most expensive. If you want to do Halloween properly, you have to have at least three clever costumes, because repeating is lame, and not dressing up is even lamer. Pre-made Halloween costumes happen to be incredibly expensive, and pretty much super boring. So, your options are pretty limited. Your best bet is scouring thrift shops and your own closet to DIY your own perfect costumes. Here are a few options that we came up with.
