University Police Searching For Person Of Interest In Sexual Assault Case
Penn State Police put up posters with the headline “ATTEMPT TO IDENTIFY” around campus last week in residence halls and common areas as they search for suspects in a reported sexual assault case.
The posters do not say why the police are looking for the person pictured, other than that he was seen outside of Hastings Hall. But Chief of Penn State Police Tyrone Parham said the person pictured on the poster is a person of interest “who may have seen or heard something related to the Johnston Commons sexual assault reported on Nov. 1.”
A PSU alert was sent out on Nov. 1 regarding a reported sexual assault in East Halls. According to the alert, the assault occurred between 1 a.m. and and 2:30 a.m., in the first floor women’s restroom of Johnston Commons.
The posters, which have two images of the same person, says: “University Police are attempting to identify the below pictured individuals who were observed outside of Hastings Hall on November 1, 2014 at approximately 0150 hours. If you know any of the pictured subjects, please contact University Police at (814) 863-1111.”
