Distraction of the Day: Tim Frazier Hits Game-Winning Shot, Posts Ridiculous Game

We’ve chronicled Tim Frazier’s D-League dominance. Today, he made yet another case that he’s deserving of a full-time NBA roster spot.

The former Penn State point guard and current Maine Red Claw (the Boston Celtics’ affiliate) hit a game-winning tip-in against the Westchester Knicks. Frazier also hit a ridiculous floater with 25.9 seconds remaining to give the Claws a one-point lead. His game-winner came on the Claws’ ensuing possession, and dropped with 0.1 seconds on the clock.

Frazier finished with a ho-hum 24 points on 10/11 shooting, 10 rebounds, and six assists. Here’s the game-winner:

You can check out more highlights from his controlling performance in the video below. At the 1:24 mark, former Penn Stater and eventual Iowa State graduate Chris Babb finds Frazier for an alley-oop off an inbounds pass. And at 1:40 you’ll find his first go-ahead bucket.

In 17 games played, Frazier is averaging 15.2 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 8.1 assists a game, an incredibly balanced and consistent output. After a competitive summer that almost saw him sneak onto the Celtics’ roster, you have to think that with the injury to top draft pick Marcus Smart and the trade of Rajon Rondo to the Mavericks, Frazier’s name may be called any second for a shot at the NBA.

Continue doing work, Tim.
