Gate A Officially Opens for THON 2015

At 4:10 p.m., THON opened the doors of the Bryce Jordan Center for spectators to pack in for the weekend.

The first 50 or so people had wristbands scanned prior to entering. Spectators standing outside in the bitter cold weather quickly became frustrated by the slow entrance process, so R&R committee members and captains abandoned this slow system. THON spectators were allowed to enter without scanning wristbands, which made the line go much quicker.

The entrance plan was modified from the system previously announced, in order to prevent THON supporters from standing outside in freezing temperatures. Organizations were given entrance times on a “first come, first serve” basis from their registration a few weeks ago.

As soon as they were through the doors, most spectators sprinted around the concourse to find prime spots within the lower bowl of the BJC.

The lower bowl of the BJC began to fill up within minutes, with fraternities, sororities, and special interest organizations alike staking their claims for prime spots.
