Volunteers Answer Why They THON With #instaTHON

After a rousing success at last year’s THON, College of Communications students started another live feed of Instagram photos to answer the question, “Why do you THON?”

Last year, students enrolled in photojournalism classes were given the assignment to attend THON and take photos. The students would then post them to Instagram with the hashtag #instaTHON.

This year, students were given the same assignment. Set up in the South Annex with a backdrop, lighting, and white boards, they approach dancers and committee members as they pass by, and ask them to write the reason for why they THON on the white boards.

You can find photos for the #instaTHON project on the live feed, or on Instagram by searching #instaTHON. Here are some of the highlights so far:
