DOTD: Snow Sculptor Dedicates Giant Olaf To THON

Robert Schott, of Cranford, N.J., did indeed want to build a snowman. As you can see above, his finished product — which he dedicated to THON — was no ordinary sculpture.

Schott, who was recently featured on NJ.com, told the site he’s been building snow sculptures for 18 years. This year, he built a 14-foot-tall iteration of Olaf from “Frozen,” and set out THON decorations alongside it. Because of its dedication to THON, Schott said he received donations in his mailbox to pass on.

Over the last few years, Schott has sculpted a shark, Snoopy on his doghouse, Thelma and Louise, and two surfers riding a wave, to name a few. Our personal favorite came last winter when Schott, who has two daughters at Penn State, recreated the Lion Shrine.

Despite that impressive Lion Shrine, Schott said the turnout to see his Olaf sculpture was the biggest he’s ever had.
