Thespians To Present ‘Spamalot’ For Spring Performance

The Penn State Thespians will perform the popular musical comedy “Spamalot” as their annual spring performance on March 26, 27, and 28 at Schwab Auditorium.

Spamalot’s” adapted from “Monty Python and the Holy Grail” and recreates King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table in comedic fashion. Complete with fashionable females dressed in fine fabrics, minstrels, French foreigners, and even a rabbit with murderous tendencies, Spamalot is sure to keep the audience laughing.

“This is the most ridiculous stage show I’ve ever seen,” Thespian member Katelyn Waltimye said. “It’s rolling on the floor funny, but also really well written, and our entire club has been working really hard to make it amazing.”

The March 26 and 27 shows will begin at 7:30 p.m., and the March 28 performance is a matinee starting a 1:30 p.m. Somewhat arbitrarily priced, the show will run students $4.98, children under the age of 12 $4.99, and $12 for the general public. There are three ways to get your tickets: you can reserve them here, purchase them in the HUB this week from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m, or buy them at the door before the show.

On Tuesday, Spamalot took over the HUB, draping the stairway in a rainbow of balloons.

“It’s really something to see,” Waltimye said. And for a taste of what could be in store, here’s footage from the Broadway rendition:
