2016 Blue-White Game Set For April 16

Mark your calendars: the date for the 2016 Blue-White Game has been finalized for Saturday, April 16. With what could be Christian Hackenberg’s last spring intrasquad game, look for more details to be announced after the 2015 season, including whether or not the extended 4 p.m. kickoff will return.

The Nittany Lions just completed their most recent Blue-White game on April 18, a 17-7 victory for Blue, where they had an excellent turnout of around 68,000 fans, making it the third-most attended spring game in the nation. The Blue-White game is an annual tradition for Penn State football that allows fans to experience some football and tailgating fun in April.

Consistently among the largest collegiate spring football practices, the game has drawn more than 50,000 fans in seven of the past nine years, including four crowds above 70,000. With a promising recruiting season and a couple of key upperclassmen, this year’s Nittany Lion team will hopefully be stronger than ever in James Franklin’s sophomore season as head coach.
