Homecoming Match Against Indiana To Kick At Noon

Penn State football’s Homecoming clash against Indiana will get an early start. The Oct. 10 contest will kick off at noon in Beaver Stadium, and television arrangements will be announced at a later date.

It’s the third major kick time that’s been announced for the coming year. The Lions host Rutgers on Sept. 19 at 8 p.m. on the Big Ten Network, and they’ll travel to Ohio State on Oct. 17 for a primetime clash on an ESPN network.

Penn State’s struggled with Indiana the past several year. After falling to the Hoosiers in a depressing road defeat in 2013 which saw Allen Robinson get injured in a nasty rain, the Lions traveled to Bloomington last season looking for revenge. It was an ugly game, with few offensive successes, but a 92-yard Bill Belton touchdown sprint allowed Penn State to escape victorious, 13-7.

The Hoosiers and Lions have played against each other every year since 2007. Penn State’s 17-1 all-time in the matchup, and have never lost at home. The teams first battled in 1993, a 38-31 Penn State home victory.

The 2015 season will officially begin on Sat., Sept. 5, when the Lions take on in-state foe Temple.
