Touch Of Blue Named 2015 National Dance Twirl And Halftime Champions

The Penn State Majorettes “Touch of Blue” traveled to the USA and World Twirling Championships in South Bend, Indiana this past week where they placed first in both Halftime and Dance Twirl competitions, and received the WOW award for choreography.

Touch of Blue arrived at Notre Dame last Sunday and competed multiple times throughout the week. The team placed second in Tuesday’s preliminary College Halftime competition and advanced to the finals after their Dance Twirl performance on Thursday.

After a week of competing, Touch of Blue was ultimately named the best in the nation on Friday night. Blue Sapphire Rachel Reiss placed in the top 5 in the Collegiate Solo competition.

On their Facebook page, the team thanked their “amazing coach Heather” and said “we couldn’t have done this without all of the support from our families, friends, and fans. Thank you all so very much! We are, and always will be, Penn State”

The team is headed back to Happy Valley with some impressive hardware to add to their collection. Congratulations to Touch of Blue on its tremendous success!
