Penn State Vs. Army Is Officially Sold Out

It’s official: Penn State will play Army West Point on Saturday, Oct. 3 in front of a sold-out Beaver Stadium. 107,000 people will be there to watch the Nittany Lions face off against Army for the first time since 1979. This game’s promotion will be Military Appreciation Day, and a deservedly full house will cheer on the military while watching James Franklin’s fired up crew try to beat the Black Knights.

Many “away team” tickets were requested through the Seats for Servicemembers program. This program allows Servicemembers from as far away as California, Texas, and Washington to go to the game by signing up to receive donated tickets purchased by Penn State alumni, fans, and businesses. Now in its fourth year, the Seats for Servicemembers program is an excellent way to show respect for veterans all over the country. Along with providing tickets at no cost to active and retired service members, there is a complimentary pregame tailgate at the Bryce Jordan Center.

More than 6,500 Seats for Servicemembers have been donated by Penn State supporters, members of the community, and businesses to date, blowing away last year’s total of 5,500. This is the first game to officially sell out since the thrilling double-overtime loss to Ohio State last October. Single game tickets remain for all other home games this season, including Saturday’s home opener vs. Buffalo and the first-ever Beaver Stadium Stripe Out vs. Rutgers at 8 p.m. on Sept. 19. #107kStrong is back, so now let’s see if the fans will play their part in firing up the team.
