OS Cribs: World’s Greatest Pong Table Edition

Drinking games are essential to any college party. There are so many to choose from, too: the fast-paced flip cup, the classic kings, and, of course, the good old-fashioned beer pong. Pong is great, because you can play on practically any flat surface. But a few guys living in O’Brien Place on South Pugh decided to take the pong table game to the next level. Their pong table makes their entire apartment, and was too good to pass up. Welcome to the newest edition of OS Cribs.

The table they built is undoubtedly able to bring anybody to a party they throw. Apparently, they say, it also distracts quite a few people due to the infinity effect it creates. There have been many confused drunk people unable to figure out the table.

The pong table is, in a word, mesmerizing. Whether you’re drunk or sober, you can’t take your eyes off it! This is the table, set up as it is during a party. It’s absolutely mesmerizing, even when you’re sober. It’s very easy to see how being drunk could cause you to be very distracted. Two of the five roommates, Joey Miscioscia and Paul Perreault, built the table when they were home for summer. The other three roommates, Mitch Proulx, Joe Shults, and Sahil Desai, chipped in to pay for the table. Not surprisingly, all five of the roommates are majoring in engineering.

The table took about two weeks and a considerable amount of money to build. The table is constructed from a wooden frame with an upward-facing mirror which reflects the LED strips lining the sides. This creates the infinity effect of the LED’s.

The best part about the pong table is it’s not just pretty–  it’s functional too! The guys use the table to eat and do homework, with the LED lights turned off, of course.

Along with the incredible table, the apartment also boasts its own DJ station and its own DJ. Paul is the DJ at parties the apartment throws. After hearing some of his mixes, it’s easy to see why. The speaker system is top notch, rivaling some of the fraternities’ setups. Not only do the speakers sound amazing, but they look awesome as well, featuring flashing LED’s on the front which go along with the music. And, yes, the picture above the DJ station is a wonderful Looney Tunes picture with LED pool cues. It’s pretty clear the five roommates really like LED lights a lot, but it somehow all works.

The walls of the apartment also feature some awesome posters. I don’t know exactly what’s going on in this one, but I love it. It has everything you could ever want: a friendly greeting message, a bear drinking and fishing, a couple cans of beer, and a message to keep Pennsylvania beautiful. This honestly may be the greatest poster I have ever seen.

This wall is about as college as you can get, at least if you’re a guy living with four other guys. With the Penn State flag, poster of some girls in bikinis, and a badass, patriotic flag, it needs no further explanation. It’s glorious. Also, the leather couches are really comfortable. I could definitely imagine coming back from an 8 a.m. and just taking a long nap on one.

If this apartment hasn’t sold you yet, there may be something to change your mind. Meet Chubs, the dwarf hamster. The apartment adopted him last year, and, quite honestly, the guys are just happy he’s still alive.

It’s clear these five roommates put a lot of time, effort, and money into making this apartment OS Cribs worthy. It’s everything any guy could ever want in an apartment: pong, sports, and cute, little hamsters!
